a film that observes an intergenerational dialogue between Rajasthani mothers, wives, and sisters from the 1970s India.

The film observes the journey of two women navigating patriarchy in a 1970s Rajasthan. When Shakti and her mother struggle over a baby girl, the nurse intervenes. On the one hand, the mother negotiates with the doctor to let the girl live, but away from Shakti. On the other hand, Shakti wants to keep the baby so plans with the nurse to find her. Both Shakti and her mother push limits for the sake of their children.

Shakti is a powerful script waiting to be made. This story of “Shakti who must choose between her girl child and the reputable family she was raised in” needs to be told. So I hope you will all support & kick start this journey for Jahnvi & all of us. Best of luck 🩵
